On the rocks?

The current diplomatic spat between the UK and Spain over Gibraltar seems to have hotted up in recent weeks.
The 300 year-old dispute has seen many a disagreement between the two, but recently things have hotted-up; what with the construction of artificial coastal reefs and the counter threat of stop-and-search of exiting vehicles and, now, a proposed tax on border crossings.
The British government has reacted staunchly; reaffirming its commitment to uphold the rights of of the 30,000 inhabitants of the UK-protected territory, who largely live of off-shore gambling and banking, as well as other alleged at-best-grey- market-activities.
But, who are we to judge?
A angry missal put out by the British Conservative Party today (5 August) after the weekend sabre-rattling, makes it quite clear that the UK will do everything in its power to protect the citizens of 'Ginbraltar'.
A Freudian slip, surely? europe on line
